A case for Democracy

In India, we pride ourselves on the democratic system that we have, however corrupt and dysfunctional it may be. It has been installed right from the bottom up i.e. village panchayats to national seat of power. I, today, saw a notice in my building, calling all residents to a GBM to elect a new management/maintenance committe to take over the charge of maintaining the society. It gladdened my heart.

However pathetic it might seem, when the citizens see a way being followed at the centre, at the state and even at the village level, they come to think of it as the way to go about it. So, we are doing that thing right here. There can be tens of improvements about the ways, no doubt about it, but the path is okay!

I have come to believe that, Corruption breeds a society without morals and integrity.
